My name is Randy Robinson and I am with the Iowa Golf Course Superintendents Association (Iowa GCSA) and we are raising money for one of our long time members and Past Presidents, Mike Evertsen.
Mike and his wife Barb lost their home to a fire recently and are currently living with Mike's son Chris and his family.
This was their home for many many years, the place they raised their children, held many BBQ's for friends and family, and was a great place for their grandkids to be "out on the farm". Many of us could never imagine what it would be like to lose everything in our home, our pictures, furniture, keep sakes etc.
The money raised will help the wonderful family keep their spirits high and offset any costs associated with food, utilities, and lodging until they have a new home. We are asking for donations before April 1st.
This is not only a professional request from me, but on a personal level as well. I grew up with Mike and Barb's youngest son Chris. We were and still are great friends. Mike and Barb opened their home to me and numerous other friends on many occasions for get togethers etc. They were like another set of parents to all of us. We can't rebuild their home, but we can help to ease the pain of such a loss with a contribution to this fund.
Thank you to all those willing to donate, because I can promise that if you were on the other end of this as the Evertsens are, they would be the first to help you out as well.
