INDUSTRIAL WASTE FORCES FAMILY TO EVACUATE!
GLOBAL NEWS REPORT :
https://globalnews.ca/news/4045402/alberta-environment-investigating-after-sand-covers-farmland/
That's right you read it correct. Sil Minerals is not being responsible and is causing Industrial Waste to be dispersed throughout their Hundred Acre farm land.
This is forcing a young family to evacuate, the health of their two infant children has been deteriorating, to the point that emergency hospitalizations have been a monthly occurrence for these beautiful babies.
Sand.. Doesn't sound so bad. We get it between our toes when we go to the beach. So what a little bit of sand that blows on their property?
Their air filters and furnace filters are filled sold with sand by the end of the week.!
But it's not that simple. This is Silica Industrial strength sand and by no means is harmless.
SIL minerals produces Silica Industrial strength sand
This type of sand causes serious irreversible lung damage & respiratory issues if exposure without proper protection is not warn Workers who are in contact with this type of Silica Industrial strength sand have to wear mandatory safety masks in order to meet government regulations in how to handle being exposed to this type of Industrial grade sand.
They have absolutely no regard to the safety of their neighbours.
Brenda and the girls had to evacuate the family home because of the Industrial
Sand that is polluting her beautiful farm and more importantly her and her families lungs!
My niece's have severe respiratory issues now and can't even go outside to play without caughing up a lung. Both have been hospitalized almost 5 times this year alone because of what the doctor passed to off as pneumonia.
I am creating this GoFundMe in order to help absorb the cost of the having to move. They just moved into their brand new house only 3 months ago. The haven't even had a house warming party yet!
http://sil.ab.ca/who-we-are/ SIL Mineral Plant (Owned by Sureway) is being completely negligent and putting these babies and their whole lives in danger They had to Evacuate. They now don't have a home. My sister who finally was living her dream a beautiful new home two beautiful babies a loving husband and a sustainable Farm & livelihood. All gone now because of another carse of the big guys stomping on the little ones.
They won't be able to move back home until SIL Mineral Plant to does the right thing! Make it safe for the public. And offer them a fair price to move. The offer that was put on the table wouldn't even be enough to move let alone re establish a new settlement. Attached are images of the Silica Industrial strength sand that has blanketed their entire farm land . This isn't just destroying their land it's destroying our land as Canadians! The north Saskatchewan River is only a few yards from their home. If the Industrial strength silica sand is covering their land.. Common sense would tell you that is is in the river already.
Please take the time to read and watch this Global News report hopefully it will help educate more people. The more we share the more pressure will be put on SIL Mineral
This is a video about how serious industrial sand it is for workers who have been exposed to Silica Industrial strength sand just to show the actual severity of the health concerns are for the girls.

Please help with what you can to keep this family safe God bless.
Below are my sister Brenda's words.:
"I live by SIL mineral plant, I have a 20 month old daughter and a 7 month old daughter. My children started coughing and having flu like symptoms regularly. We thought it was our old mobile home. We decided to spend and borrow money to buy a brand new mobile home for the health of our children. We spent all of our savings in order to provide a safe and healthy environment for our children.
We moved our new home onto our property, and moved in. My children were 16 months old and 3 months old. I put them both into daycare, and started working full time to be able to pay mortgage on the new home. One month later my girls were coughing
And my animals goats and ponies were still coughing. I checked my furnace, and it was covered in fine sand. We also lost our internet MCS net because the piles of sand were interfering with the signal. Our cell reception also went from not so great to nothing! We then decided to talk to SIL about them buying us out. At the cost that it was going to cost us to move. But they were not interested in putting the money out that it was going to cost us. When we were discussing this, we were told that they to noticed they had more dust than normal around there plant. They said they are now making finer sand used for fracking. But the stacks for drying the sand were not set up for This fine sand, which they believed to be causing it. Yet they never stopped production to fix this problem. One day I went out to our back farmland to see how close they were getting to our boundaries, and our whole 100 acres were covered in sand!! With the resent snow fall we were able to see what was blowing on our property. We have tried working with them we have filed a complaint with Alberta environmental, with everyone we can think of. But this all takes time. I feel like my new home is contaminated, this fine sand is everywhere. I have to move my babies to safety! We have to leave our brand new home, while we are still making mortgage payments and now have to make rent as well.
Learn About Silicosis
Silicosis is a lung disease caused by breathing in tiny bits of silica, a mineral that is part of sand, rock, and mineral ores such as quartz. It mostly affects workers exposed to silica dust in occupations such mining, glass manufacturing, and foundry work. Over time, exposure to silica particles causes scarring in the lungs, which can harm your ability to breathe.
Key Facts
There are three types of silicosis: acute, chronic, and accelerated.
It occurs in workers from mines, foundries, sandblasting, and glass manufacturing.
About 2 million US workers remain potentially exposed to occupational silica.
There is no cure for silicosis, but it can be prevented.
What Is Silicosis?
There are three types of silicosis:
Acute silicosis, which causes cough, weight loss, and fatigue within a few weeks or years of exposure to inhaled silica.
Chronic silicosis, which appears 10 to 30 years after exposure and can affect upper lungs and sometimes cause extensive scarring.
Accelerated silicosis, which occurs within 10 years of high-level exposure.
Silicosis can develop within a few weeks to even decades after exposure. When people breathe silica dust, they inhale tiny particles of the mineral silica. This silica dust can cause fluid buildup and scar tissue in the lungs that cuts down your ability to breathe. This can lead to lung scarring and cough, weight loss, and fatigue.
How Silicosis Affects Your Body
Silicosis affects the lungs by damaging the lining of the lung air sacs. Once this begins, it leads to scarring and, in some situations, to a condition called progressive massive fibrosis. This condition happens when there is severe scarring and stiffening of the lung, which makes it difficult to breathe.
People with acute silicosis experience cough, weight loss, tiredness, and may have fever or a sharp chest pain. You may also have shortness of breath over time, especially with chronic silicosis. Your healthcare provider might hear crackles or wheezing when they listen to your lungs. Having silicosis increases the risk of other problems, such as tuberculosis, lung cancer, and chronic bronchitis.
Each type of silicosis affects the body somewhat differently:
In acute silicosis, the lungs become very inflamed and can fill with fluid, which causes severe shortness of breath and low blood oxygen levels.
In chronic silicosis, the silica dust causes areas of swelling in the lungs and chest lymph nodes, which makes breathing more difficult.
In accelerated silicosis, swelling in the lungs and symptoms occur faster than in chronic silicosis.
Over time, lung capacity decreases, and people with silicosis may need support with oxygen and other devices to help them breathe.
