Hey Everyone!
I am reaching out because my good friend Katelyn has recently stumbled into a heatbreaking hardship with her asbolutely beloved horse Aero.
Aero was completely 100% himself on Friday May 10th until Saturday morning he started to colic. After having the vet go out she determined there was a mass impaction blocking his small intestine. Sunday morning May 12th Aero was rushed into emergency surgery at Tufts Large Animal Hospital to remove the impaction. The Doctors were afraid something had ruptured or punctured and chances of saving him were slim. Turns out that was not the case! Surgery went well and the impaction was removed. It wasn't until a day later they noticed his small intestine not working properly again. After testing, the Doctors diagnosed Aero with Ileus. Ileus is a condition where the small intestine stops working properly for a number of days. The good news is that this is a 99.9% curable condition. However the bad news is treatment may take several days which is why I'm reaching out to all of you. Katelyn has almost reached her limit of how much she can spend on treatment. The fact Aero can recover from this over time and the only thing standing in the way of his survival is finaces. Katelyn is a recent college grad who is still paying off student loans from hygiene school. Katelyn is the type of person who would do anything to lend a helping hand to someone who needs it. Aero means the world to Katelyn and also to her mom Kathy. Katelyn has owned Aero for 9 years and he has always been a happy and healthy horse. It is breaking my heart to see how upset she is. Please think about if you were in Katelyn's postion and this was your beloved pet. Any dontation is appreciated and will mean so much to her. Every dollar counts.
