Help For The Senseney's

Donation protected
To all of our family, friends, acquaintances and well-wishers in Spartanburg, Florence, the Carolinas and throughout the country and the world,

We are so very grateful and thankful, and have been overwhelmed, by all of the prayers, love and support we have been shown over the past few days.  Since so many people have asked how they could help during this difficult time, we are hoping this page may be a way for people to support the Senseney boys and their family financially during this incredibly difficult time.

On July 31, 2015, Jon, Flynn, Sam and Jack Senseney were traveling on I-26 near Spartanburg, South Carolina on their way to a camping weekend in the North Carolina mountains.  It was to be the last summer trip for a dad and his sons before the older two went off to Columbia International University for the year – Flynn as a sophomore and Sam as a freshman.  Tragically, the family was involved in a serious accident on the interstate.  The boys were all injured – Jack with a puncture wound, Flynn with head lacerations, and Sam with a broken back.  Sadly and devastatingly, Jon lost his life in the presence of his sons at the side of the road.

Those who know the Senseney family know of their incredible strength and faith they have in the Lord.  Unfortunately, they are not strangers to family tragedy.  Flynn, Sam and Jack lost their mother to illness in May 2014, and Jon lost his twin brother Chris unexpectedly in January 2003.  As twins, Jon and Chris were always very close, and we are comforted by the fact that they are together once again in the company of our Lord.  While there are so many unanswered questions, the family’s knowledge and faith of God’s goodness, love, and promises overcomes all.

Sam sustained the worst injuries in the accident.  His T-9 and T-10 vertebrae were both fractured, compromising his spinal cord.  Sam had spinal surgery on Monday to stabilize the injury and we are praying for the miracle of a complete recovery.  The expectation is that there will be a long road of recovery – but God’s ways are not our ways and He is able to do anything.  The boys love to live life – especially Sam.  You would find him climbing trees, hanging 25 feet above the ground in his ENO, playing practical jokes on his grandparents, or doing backflips off of anything he could.  Sam has great energy, and he ultimately wants to use that energy to be a Youth Pastor and lead young people to a relationship with Christ.

Funds raised will be used towards the family’s medical expenses as well as educational expenses for Flynn (and eventually Sam) to attend CIU.  While this incredibly tragic event is difficult for us to comprehend, we rest in the knowledge that God has a divine plan and works all things for good for those who love Him.

Please continue to surround these boys and this family in your love and prayers!  Thank you and God bless you!
