Justice for Candy Middleton
What is the latest? I heard charges were dropped.
I am so sorry to hear about this. I wish I could donate to help but being a single mom, a full time student and not working, I am unable to, but if you need to me sign a petition, I will most definitely will. I will also share on my facebook page. Again, sorry for the loss of Candy.
I am unemployed but I feel obligated to help, Whatever I can do I am at you disposal ,. I would like to help spread CANY'S LAW nationwide,. this is something that I have considered for several years after becoming aware of how often these attrocities take place, Police absolutely need proper training in dealing wiyh K9 defense and apprehention, I have a Blue Heeler and your story has touched me deeply, I couln't imagine the pain you have been through, I'm fighting back tears just thinking about it,. I don't know what I would do ,.. I would probably go on a rampage hunting this P.O.S., but you have taken the high road and for that I applaud you, I am a passionate dog owner and I really am serious about helping in any way possible , even if its just sharing your story ,.. but I can tell you from the bottom of my heart that isn't enough , so PLEASE use me I am at you service
Cole. I am sorry for your tragic loss. I rescue dogs and am looking for a home for my recent rescue Gypsy Rose who looks very much like your pup. Please message me on FB if you would be interested in providing a loving home for her. She is extremely affectionate and desperately wants to be loved.
I am so sorry for your loss. We have two heelers, one red, one blue. They both are as friendly as they could be. Unfortunately the neighbors kid did not respect our no trespassing signs, he through rocks, sticks and shot one of them with a bb gun. It was messy.. we had to go to court because our neighbors said Lucy was 'dangerous', she was provoked by this kid. By the way he admitted to the judge he did these things. The Sheriff's Dpt. was demanding we have her put down. The law nor the neighbors respected our fence or our privacy. She is still here with us, we chose to pay the insurance $1000.00 a year for her, but she is still by my side. We love her like one of our children. I believe ALL law enforcement should be informed / knowledgeable of these situations. sometimes all we have is our pets ;))
I just watched puppycide on YouTube...Candy's Law has to happen!!!!!!!
I am so sorry for your loss ! I am a volunteer at a Rescue in Massachusetts, and a few years back we had a 50th year Anniversary party for the facility. We had about 300 people there, one of which was a Boston Animal Lawyer. I asked him what would it take to make dogs not a piece of property in this country. His reply was that it would be like ending slavery , it would be that hard. I said if someone doesn't try, or start to try, it will never change. This has been my lifelong dream, to make dog's not a piece f property, but a valued family companion. France just passed the law making dogs and cats no longer property. I've always felt that if we could change that one thing, it would make anybody and everybody responsible , and accountable for any abuse, any violent act, whether your a stranger to the dog, or the owner. Maybe Candy can make this dream come true. All it takes is for people willing to be united across the US, and to stand up for change ! We can make change happen if we all stand together, and fight for what we believe in, so no other dog will ever have to suffer at the hands of a cop, or any other messed up person.
I have a blue heeler myself "Roxy". I can't imagine the sadness your feeling. Pets are like family.
So wrong what happened to your dog. 😢
Cole, my tears flowed hearing your pain in the video learning your baby ws taken unjustly. My tears are for you & Your sweet Candy. Watching your interview... I could feel your soul being broken. I truly did. Some of us love our animals no differently than a human child. I'm one of them. You are, too. I send you love & blessings. Candy had the best papa, ever. Know you have many behind you in this. Go get the person who did this to you all & get justice. :-)
Thank you to the amazing people helping the Middleton family. wow this is so great to see the kindness
So very sorry for your loss, heartfelt thoughts & prayers to you & your family.
I am so very sorry for the loss of your beautiful Candy. I am praying for justice to be served. Please know that you are in my thoughts.
I kno how u feel also .our family pet JoJo was shot n killed inside my six foot wooden privacy fence that had all the beware of dog no trespassing etc. Rusk Tx police officer went in my yard for what reason I don't kno. Shot my Pitt mastive mix . Backed my dog into the shed and shot him because my dog growled. What was he supposed to do? He was protecting his yard . They took my dogs body and my puppy. I searched for four days till this officer pilled in my drive and wrote my husband a ticket for my dog not bein on a leash as he's boasting about "shooting your dog. " I went to PD dept the next day n was insulted again. These big men who get pleasure out of killing animals . The investigator all but told me my dog didn't matter n I didn't matter n there wasn't anything I could do. I miss my Jo so much n I kno he suffered and I didn't protect him. I cry now as I write this and it's been 4 yes n the men were correct there hasn't been anything I could do. Id like to do to them what was done to my Jo. Good luck and I hope u can make a difference
Cole, I'm so sorry this happened to Candy. I can only imagine how heartbroken you and your family must be. As a mom to two cattle pups (11 and 10 years old now), I can't even began to think of being without my two fur babies. Hearing that horrible video just made me cry my eyes out. My family's thoughts and wishes are with you and yours. I am so glad that horrible cop was fired and he deserves the same type of pain in his life. JUSTICE FOR CANDY!!! RIP, baby girl.
I am unable to donate, but wanted to add my thoughts and appreciation for what you are doing after your personal fight. I had an officer come to my house yesterday in response to a 911 cal I had placed because neighbors were fighting in the middle of the street....as soon as she heard footsteps Dixie began barking as she should..and as I opened the door the cop immediately reached for his gun!!!! Thank God I had another steel door between us because I know in my heart given the chance he would have reacted and pulled his gun! I was floored! On top of that he kept his hand on my doorknob like he wanted to just walk into my home...hand on his gun the whole time! If my roomie hadn't come right then...I can't say what might have happened. I will do everything I can to promote the change in laws you will be working towards!!
Man, that's sweet! Over 12k in two days! That's fantastic!
Just to be clear .. Obviously a lot has happened in a week . It has been very traumatic and my family have been through a lot. We are so comforted by all your support and prayers . One important note with regards to the donations. As far as I can tell we can leave that money in there for as long as we'd like. We are planning to file for. 501c3 non -profit status for any donations that are not utilized during the upcoming legal fights. The leftover funds ( no matter the amount) will ultimately be put into the 501c3. The 501c3 will be designed to work towards changes regarding how innocent dogs are treated by peace officers, and to help initiate training for these officers. This was explained earlier and we hope these will be called "Candy's Law(s)". We do NOT want this to happen to anyone else!! Justice for Candy!!
I saw your story on the news. I couldn't bear to listen to Candy being shot and crying out. I covered my ears. To see you, her "dad" crying and so heart broken brings tears to my eyes even now. She was your "child." I am praying justice is served and the policeman goes to prison. This would set a precedent for all our "fur babies" everywhere.
Cole I'm so sorry this tragedy happened, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. This man needs to be held accountable for his actions which were outrageous.
