Black Maternal Health Presentation

Donation protected
I’m a certified black labor doula with a master’ s degree in social work in upstate New York.  In my twenty years of experience, the statistics on black maternal health has not improved with the advances of medical technology.

Black women have the highest statistics in poor maternal health outcomes: low birth weight, prematurity, stillbirths, c-section rates, poor breastfeeding and medical care disparities.  As a maternal health ambassador, I am a presenter to the National Association of Black Social Workers to facilitate a presentation on Black Maternal Health at the March 2016 national conference in New Orleans.

My presentation will be a comprehensive exploration on black maternal health and what black social workers can do in their agencies and communities to implement awareness and action that goes from the black pregnant woman to her birth and beyond, resulting in better black birth outcomes.

A successful awareness campaign ‘Birthing While Black’ has already been implemented on my internet radio show with an avid, national representation of birth workers of  color and culture.  2016 is the Year of Black Maternal Health.  It is time to promote change to save black lives.

This asking campaign includes all entrance fees, conference attendance, travel accommodations and presentation preparation with projector. Please visit my web page: www.Bolddoula.com and my radio show series Birthing While Black: www.blogtalkradio.com/denise-bolds

Black lives matter from the womb, not just at the tomb.
This asking campaign ends March 23, 2016
