1 day after Lucy's 6th birthday, she experienced a hemiplegic migraine that prompted many tests to follow. They found a cyst/lesion in her right/middle cerebral artery that is blocking the blood flow to her brain.
After consulting with top experts across the country, they all agree that this is a very rare, yet serious condition, that could cause a stroke if left untreated. Therefore, it appears as though she will need to undergo brain surgery soon to have the lesion removed and the artery repaired.
As you can imagine, Lucy and her family will be in need of lots of medical care and support as they will be traveling across the country for the surgery.
