Cecelia McRoberts Memorial Fund

An Angel is a rare and beautiful soul who can lift the spirit of others with nothing more than their presence. Angels live among us – at work, home, and at church – but sometimes must leave this Earth to join the Archangel Michael in his duties to heal and protect us. With much sadness and joy, Mary “Cecelia” McRoberts has recently graduated to join the Lord in Heaven.

Cecelia was diagnosed with Autoimmune Disease quite some time ago. She never talked about it, and never even mentioned her condition outside of a very small circle of friends and family. She did not want her condition to change anything in her life. Cecelia refused to live within the bounds of a “condition”. She did not want others to feel pity or remorse for her. She chose to live.

Cecelia lived every day, continuing to enjoy her favorite activities, especially her artwork. Cecelia created dozens of pieces of art in her final years, including a few in her final days while in the hospital. Although creating art was her favorite thing, it was far from the only uplifting benefit she provided for her family and friends.

Cecelia was a cornerstone in her family. After weathering the loss of her son, Thomas, she worked to strengthen her family more than ever. Cecelia embraced his memory and used her strong will to guide her family and friends to new heights. Anyone who crossed her path left happier, with a light that she brought out in them. Through the pain and discomfort she endured, she never felt that is was anything less than an assignment from God to donate her love to all who had need. There were only two types of people that she ever encountered, those who were her family and those she had not yet met.

Cecelia’s family has poured their support for Cecelia as she graduated from living angel to an angel in Heaven. Cecelia’s name has been recorded in the book of life and gave her last days to those she held so dear. Please take a moment to celebrate the life and accomplishments of Cecelia McRoberts as the artist, friend, mother, and grandmother we have always and forever will love.

Life gives us challenges that we must overcome, and this is one of them. The loss of a loved one is very hard, but we must push through it together as family. Cecelia will be missed, but her memories and accomplishments will live forever. She has lived an amazing life, but God needs her back home, and her son needs his mom back. One day we will see her again. Until then, we must keep our spirits high and know she will no longer be in pain.

Cecelia’s loving husband Jim, who had barely left her side in the last few months while she has been in the hospital, is semi-retired and has precious few resources to fund Cecelia’s memorial expense. Please help our family provide the loving memorial that Cecelia and her family deserve. All proceeds will fund the memorial service expenses and medical bills incurred during the last few months Cecelia spent in the hospital.

Cecelia will have a viewing service on Thursday from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at French Funeral Home located at 9300 Golf Course Rd., Albuquerque, NM. Cecelia’s memorial service will be held at Calvary Lutheran Church located at 305 Unser Blvd NE, Rio Rancho, NM, at 10:00am with a potluck lunch to follow. The interment service will be at the Santa Fe National Cemetery where she will be buried right beside her son, Thomas. The cemetery is located at 501 N Guadalupe St, Santa Fe, NM.
