Help Michael and Mariah

Michael and Mariah along with their 18 month old baby girl Misha recently discovered a devastating fact about the house they had been renting for almost 2 years.
Because of severe and continued health issues effecting the young family Michael decided to do water testing and was very shocked to find out their well water had dangerous bacteria in it. They decided to be safe and no longer use the water from their house until they knew more information about the cause. They continued to do more testing and discovered some terrifying news. They learned that the water was contaminated beyond the bacteria and into the chemical realm. They then found out the oil tank was leaking and the house itself was contaminated as well. A leak they were unaware of and a leak that should have been noticed and fixed by the proper people. This leak was known by the landlord and caused by his actions. In hiding this from his tenants, they and their daughter were subject to chemical inhalation for only lord knows how long. As soon as they found out about the leak they called the appropriate authorities.
The oil had been seeping up the walls, under the floor, into the ground outside and into the atmosphere that they had been living in, transferring into their belongings as well. Everything that was made of fabric, pourus material, wood, plastic and even some items made of metal was now contaminated. They were told that to continue to be in that environment (and even with their belongings in a different environment) would be disastrous to their health and well-being and most certainly life-threatening. Thankfully they have been able to stay with family but they had to leave everything behind including, their daughters toys, blankets, stuffed animals, furniture, clothing, everything due to the contamination. All of this is to be discarded and what basic insurance they had is being eaten up to dispose of their stuff in an appropriate way.
Over the course of the past several weeks, they have been through a roller-caster ride of emotions, phone calls, emails and tests, some of which have cost them money they don’t have to have done. They have been told that they cannot return to the house for any reason unless they use protective equipment as the contamination is so toxic that continued exposure is extremely hazardous to their health. They now have to endure years of medical tests to ensure they have no long standing major health effects above what they and their daughter are already suffering. We can only hope that they caught everything serious before it was too late, but there has already been an impact on their immediate health.
Through this process they have learned that there is a governing body to protect the laws, the fines against the people who caused this, the groundwater, environment, birds and bugs. But there was no one there, no agency to help them as the people affected. They have been learning as they go and each step has been physically, emotionally, psychologically and financially exhausting. Thankfully they have a wonderful family and strong friends who have helped keep them from being homeless but rebuilding and the health journey has only just begun.
