Today, I am working with a longer documentary photo project; Witness of the last survivors of the Holocaust, interviewing their backgrounds and photographing strong portraits.

I will photograph about 50 people of survivors living in Sweden.  l have already photographed several people. There will be seven longer texts for the Witness exhibition.

I arrived home two weeks ago from a Warsaw trip with a group from the Segerstedt Institute participants in a course on "Tolerance, Identity and Extremism".

How many times you hear about the horror of the Holocaust, it is equally impossible to understand that such a thing has really happened and even more impossible to understand that there are still people who deny and shame.

I was on my journey to document one of the last surviving Eugenia Gondors who traveled back after 70 years. She visited her childhood neighborhood, the ghetto where she grew up, the mass grave where her father and relatives were buried. We also visited Triblinka.

I feel like the world is looking today with all hate, worry and it's more important to know what has happened and what's right. The stories of the last survivors are also a window to the world to understand and to ask questions about what has happened. The last survivors remind us of the dangers of uncontrolled hatred.

Why is there so much hatred? How could this happen? How could people be inhumane and evil? What was it that caused people to stop seeing their fellow human beings?

The questions may be more important than the answers.

"To listen to a witness is to become a witness" Elie Wiesel

I plan to present to the Holocaust Conference in Stockholm in January 2020 to make visible and tell about the stories of the last survivors in a documentary of newly taken photographs and interviews with texts.

The photographs of the exhibition I want to go around in a Sweden for students and the young generation to bring the memory of the Holocaust to the new generations and spread knowledge about the Holocaust. Also to act against the denial of Holocaust, nynazism, anti-Semitism, racial discrimination we have in today's society.
