Help Sammy Walk Again

Exciting update! I ran into Sammy's vet at the grocery store. He is off work this week, but found out that I'm trying to get a brace for Sam's leg. He has talked with the clinic and the school (VA Tech) and is going to have a resident perform the surgery at a discounted rate! He said that surgery is a much better option for Sam, and is going to get him scheduled next week. Lowering the request to $500....I just need $375 more!

Sammy tore his knee apart on June 17th at 9am while walking with me to check the mail. His veterinarian said he's only allowed to go outside to go to the bathroom,  so this active boy has been stuck inside for weeks. He's only 10 and I  can't imagine him not being able to go for a walk or hike again.

Sam tore his cruciate ligament. Poor guy can't use his right, hind leg. I can literally hear his knee every time he takes a step... it makes a knocking sound. He's already on phenobarbitol for seizures, as well as carprofen and gabapentin for his degenerating spine. He is now on codeine for leg pain. 
He desperately needs a brace for his leg. His vet said a brace will cost almost as much as surgery ($900). I'll do anything for my boy, but I can't afford the brace. 

He has been my best friend. My protector. My constant companion. My shoulder to cry on. 
We all hear people say, "I rescued you, but you rescued me;" he really did, rescue me.  He brought me out of a strong depression and has kept me going. I can't imagine letting him suffer. Sammy was dropped off at a kill shelter with his brother and was saved at the last moment. I want to save him again. I want to buy him a brace. 

He needs a brace for his leg. He needs to  be able to walk again. Will you help me get him a brace? He would give you so many kisses if you could help!
