7 Yeer Anthology and Film

We are 7 Yeer, a duo of Artae Jones and Shaheim Dennis. We are two young men from Chicago’s Westside. We’ve been friends through high school and college, a friendship which has evolved into a partnership as writers. Through scripts, proses, poems and music we use a variety of mediums to share stories that are inspired by our lives, our loved ones and our surroundings. These stories are not all pretty, but they are an outlet for suppressed emotions offering words of encouragement, food for thought, and raiment for the soul to the listeners/readers. We want to inspire them to make their own difference. You could either build your own dream or build the dream someone else has for you. Building your own dream is the bridge to making your own difference.

7 Yeer has several projects in the making, one of which is a series of writings that will contribute to an anthology. The writings will be accompanied by a soundtrack so that you can dance with the words. 7 Yeer’s first installment, “Backwards”, was a short story, copyrighted 2017, and published on July 14, 2017. We are working towards film adaptation. These projects are products of our love for the art of writing and making music.

Art gives purpose to life. Our goal is to share from our soul in order to uplift any and everyone who is open to receive us. This task requires faith, strategy, support and resources. We are humbly asking for contributions to aide in printing and book binding, film development, recording and building our platform as artists. Be compelled to make a difference.
