Art Collins emergency medical fund!

My name is Josh Gobel, I am the director of Youth With a Mission on the island of Kauai.  I am starting this gofundme page to help a dear friend of mine, Art Collins.  Below is a paragraph from Art's wife Peggy, describing what they have been going through this last year.  Ending with a quick blurb from myself.

To Our Friends,

Many of you have expressed your concern for Art and we wanted to give you an update on his health.  To those of you who are not aware of the extreme downturn in Art's health, I would like to share our story.  On July 5th of 2014, Art seemed to have a complete breakdown.  He began to experience fever, chills, and extreme fatigue. After a few weeks, he began to have frequent mini-seizures throughout the day.  Things began to spiral downward so, that in October he was admitted into Swedish Medical Center in Seattle; a hospital well-known for their exceptional neurological team.  After 30 days, the doctors were completely baffled at Art's condition and his lack of improvement with all the drugs and treatments they had to offer. On Nov. 4th they released him from the hospital no better than when he came in. Since then he has been prescribed multiple seizure meds, all of which failed to arrest the constant seizure activity.  Art had decided to at last take a furlough year after 28 years of service in YWAM, but he has spent that year in terrible suffering and without hope from the medical experts.  Of course with all this trauma physically, we have faced trauma financially. Even with insurance we have many medical bills plus Art's $1000 monthly premium. We don't know what the future will hold since God is in control of the timing of Art's recovery. A dear friend in YWAM encouraged us to let our YWAM family and other friends know of our troubles and give you the opportunity to support us with a financial gift, if you so desire. We are so grateful for the prayer support we have felt holding us up and giving us the strength to see us through another day. We are waiting on God to finish the work He has intended during this journey of suffering.

Thank-you for allowing me to share our story of this past year with you.  I pray God will continue to reveal His great love to all of us in all of our personal challenges.  Hebrews 13:5b-6 (Amplified)

Sincerely,
Peggy Collins

Since the first day I met Art in 2010 during a Youth With a Mission staff training week on Kauai, I have always admired his life and constant giving to the Kingdom of God.  He has always been a source of encouragement and seems to text me at just the right time, lifting my spirit and challenging me to persevere.  Many of you may know Art Collins because of his teaching in YWAM Discipleship Training Schools.  Many of you were probably challenged and touched by Art's testimony and generosity (doughnuts and pizza for all!).  Now its our turn to give back to a man who has challenged so many lives, mentored young leaders, and shown us a living example of what it means to persevere in the joy of the Lord.  We are trying to raise $20,000 to pay for existing aswell as future medical bills.  Please give today and share this page on your social media outlets!  Thank you and God bless!
