Greetings Patriots;
My name is Danny Ugly.
For the past five years I have been a part of hosting a day-long showcase during the South by Southwest Music Festival called UGLYFEST! When we hosted our first UGLYFEST in 2013, we didn't really know what to expect. Our goal was to create a festival that would give Austin residents, (and visitors to our fine city), an opportunity to enjoy some great live music by unique acts without all of the other bullshit that goes along with South by Southwest, (long lines, wristbands, RSVPs, etc.). To our great amazement, the festival was a huge success.
Since then, the UGLYFEST has grown into something very special. It's an opportunity for acts that may not get much exposure during the overcrowded South by Southwest madness to perform for an audience of genuine music fans, (as opposed to people that just want a free Lone Star beer and the chance to see Jimmy Kimmel introduce Drake at an uncomfortably packed venue). Since I am a musician and artist putting on a festival for people that love music and art, it is very important to me that NO CORPORATIONS BE A PART OF THIS EVENT!!!
I am trying to raise enough money to ensure that this year's UGLYFEST will be the best one to date! The money raised through this campaign will be used to secure guaranteed payouts for all of the touring and local musicians that will be performing, and to secure materials that will make the festival as visually stimulating and interactive as possible.
Crowdfunding is not something that I do lightly. It would be much easier for me to just get corporate sponsorship for the event. However, I want to maintain the tradition of this event being something different and special that people can come and enjoy at no cost.
In exchange for your support, I will be offering very special gifts to those that kick in $50 or more. These gifts include custom made art and exclusive music. I will pick one donor at random to receive a song, written and recorded by Danny Ugly specifically for you, about the subject matter of your choice!!! Donate multiple times and increase your chances of winning!!!

This year's UGLYFEST will be held at Cherrywood Coffeehouse in Austin, Texas on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 from noon to 10:00 p.m. The fest is all-ages... and as mentioned above, FREE!
