Dad's Funeral

My name is Hieu Jeromy and I am asking for donations to help with my father’s final funeral expenses. My family and I came to the US as immigrants 10 years ago seeking a better life and opportunity from Viet Nam. My parents worked long hours as factory workers with high hopes for me to have a better future as a first-generation college student. With their dedication and sacrifice I have finally made it to Drexel University as a Health Sciences major and focus on pre-med route and hoping to graduate in 2022 and enroll into medical school. 
Unfortunately, my father was diagnosed with stage 4 Hepatocellular Carcinoma (liver cancer) and Hepatitis B on August 15, 2020 at Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia PA. As factory workers, my parent’s insurance did not cover cancer treatment and due to Covid-19 he was sent home from the hospital on August 20th, 2020 .It was heart breaking for my mother and I to witness my father going through such agonizing pain in his final moments. By the time the paramedic got to him he was no longer responsive as he drew his last breath on September 19, 2020 at 8:25 AM .
I lost my part-time job in March 2020 when Covid-19 shut down the economy and my mother is working hard to make ends meet with uncertainty looming that she could be laid off any time and we would end up on the street. I am asking for assistance of $3,000.00 to help with the total funeral expense of $8,000.00 to put my father to rest. Any amount you can spare during this difficult time of COVID-19 would be a great help to our family. The only regret that I have is that only if my father could have waited another two years to see me graduate, by then maybe I could have done something for him.
