Riley's vet bills

My dog, Riley is so much more to me, and my family than just our pet.  I adopted Riley as a puppy, 9 years ago on the heels of the deepest depression of my life. While he is not a service dog, he was my loyal friend through one of the hardest points in my life. Heavens only know where I would be today, had he not been there to accompany me through it all. 

Over the past several months, we noticed a small lump on Riley's leg. He is an older Labrador mix, so we thought little of it at first, but it has been growing in size since. Over the past couple weeks it has been causing him noticeable discomfort, and we took him to the vet to diagnose. A blood draw from the growth was inconclusive for cancer, but it cannot be ruled out. As a result, more expense and more testing/treatment will be necessary. 

As of now, we have an estimate in the $1500 range, if the growth is non-cancerous, for removal of the growth. Should it be cancerous, obviously harder decisions need to be made. My family is asking for help covering his medical bills, at least up to the diagnosis/treatment of his ailment.

Having just added a new child to our family, these expenses have caught us very off guard, and as much as I hate to ask for help, I can't just let my little boy continue to be in pain.
