Megan's Medical Fund

Well, we thought the last fund raiser would be it. The generosity of everyone who donated paid for the successful surgery and Megan is doing well. But she has been diagnosed with Common Variable Immunodeficiency (CVID) . The word 'common' isn't common at all- this illness is quite rare. This, in layman's terms, means her body doesn't make antibodies that keep her from getting ill. This could have more dire effects than the cancer. It will be a lifelong problem for Megan.
There are good and bad points to this news. We now know why Megan is often ill; she even caught the whooping cough despite a vaccination. Her lack of antibodies are what caused the sinus cancer.
A virus that we all catch, the Epstein Barr Virus (EBV) , usually lies dormant in healthy people. With Megan, because she caught mono in her early 20s when it is much more serious, it became a direct cause of the sinus cancer. The EBV is still active.
The good news is we know how to manage: Megan will have immuno replacement therapy, probably for the rest of her life. The bad news is the first year she must have an IV treatment every month that takes four hours. The treatments cost a huge amount of money that she and her new husband Dean cannot manage. Megan is a private patient of an immunologist because the NHS says "they cannot adequately treat her" and the medical bills are piling up again.
Megan and Dean are both students who planned the next few years of their life as a team. They beat cancer together, now to find out that the NHS can't help with Megan's illness.
You have already given so much and we are so grateful, but if you can help in anyway to help Megan pay for her treatments, we would be so thankful. Megan urgenetly needs to pay for the rest of her treaments to prevent any further illness, keep the EBV at bay, and stop cancer from returning. Without these treatments, Megan will continue to get ill with major complications and the cancer will return. Please help Megan pay for the treatments she needs so badly.
