Miranda's Karate Black Belt Test

My name is Miranda Deck and you know my Mom, Shawna Ritchie Deck and Dad, Joe Deck. I'm proud to say that I am scheduled to test for my black belt in Karate in Colorado in June of this year, which is really a big deal. We go to something that is like a retreat--3 days of intense physical activity, karate, ceremony, and centering. It is a challenge, celebration, and hard work.

They tell me I must have a lot of perseverance to keep working so hard on Martial Arts. I started taking Taekwondo when I was 3 and Karate when I was 6. I feel so blessed to have found this Karate school, especially Mr. McD. He's the best!

I also practice the art of weapons, am learning to speak Chinese, and participate heavily in my special and exclusive STORM (Special Team of Role Models) Team. I feel much honored to have been included in it.

In any case, in order to participate in June, I will have to do a book report, raise money for the $400.00 testing fee, clothing, transportation, and housing costs. I have tried to raise money by working odd jobs, but it appears that there is not a lot of demand for 10 year-old (almost 11 year-old) workers, so I am doing this. Any little bit you could do to help me out would be awesome and I would be very thankf
