Miss Alaska United States 2014 Support

Hello! My name is Kassidy Whitley. On March 8th I was appointed as the Miss Alaska United States 2014 representative. I am so very thankful to God for this incredible opportunity to serve my city, my state and the precious people that reside in it. With representing the greatest state in the country, there comes certain costs. I want to represent Alaska in the best way possible. There are so many things that were laid on my heart that I wanted to bring awareness and support to. This platform I have chosen has not only personally affected my life but also the lives of the people around me here in Alaska and in other states. My platform is youth physical fitness specifically for high school aged kids. This is very important to me because in this day and age, it is so easy to get misdirected in the areas of fitness and nutrition. With the misconception of fad diets, misuse of supplements and lack of knowledge in exercising, our world is gradually giving up healthy lifestyles. A healthy existence only comes to be through hard work and the knowledge of the way our bodies work. It's not something that comes easily or quickly. The results only come from the amount of hard work that you put into yourself. Aside from raising support and awareness to these areas, I will be traveling around the state promoting other programs for different causes that are beneficial to the communities throughout the state of Alaska. With this title, Miss Alaska United States 2014, I will be traveling to Washington D.C. in July to compete in the Miss United States pageant. The only thing that makes this possible is support from communities and residents of Alaska.
 The adventure to Washington DC is such a great opportunity! The only way I
 can make any of this a reality is if my State and the community support me through this.
