It has been a interesting journey through the health care system. What seemed like a single purpose in the moment of treatment, you come to see involves multiple layers of invoices and health care providers. Most services bill each other at first and eventually pass it along to the patient when the avenues of suggested coverage reach a roadblock. Much like musical chairs the music stops and the one left standing with no place to sit is often the person who has the least resources due to the interruption of working due to treatments and attending to healing.

What happens it that at some point it becomes apparent that outstanding invoices get misdirected or misfiled but eventually become an issue and constant reminder that when one is sick the wheels of commerce do not cease to roll. In the attempt to reclaim the momentum and meet day to day expenses, one is faced with paying down these outstanding bills as well . Over the course of care and through the generosity of my community I was able to satisfy a lot of the initial sizable costs. I am hoping to clear the slate of a few which remain as open and collectible. It is my hope to wipe clean these remaining reminders of convalescence. It is not an easy thing to ask for assistance when there is such need other plaeces in the world. Yet to not creates a weight which shared by many could be lightened considerably.

Co-current with trying to pay down what is outstanding, ( approx. $9,700 spread across a number of medical service providers ) I have recently been experiencing some visual impairment due to what docotors have indicated could have been a result of excesive coughing during my recent bout with congestion that has thankfully abated.

My recent  trip to the opthamolgist and the tests were not completely covered by the current retooled insurance plan. The recent invoice that arrived for seeing the doctors was for more than what I pay for my house payment. I chose my house payment. But further treatment will require payments on appointment.

It is the thing which keeps musicians such as myself from wanting to go to the doctor, which does not help the situation in the long run.

I am setting the amount which would cover this current invoice. Any funds exceeding that I will use to paydown the outstanding invoices I still have from earlier medical treatments.

Thank you for being there.
