Johnny Gonzalez is A 12 year old friend of ours that was involved in a tragic accident on Tuesday evening. Johnny suffered a traumatic brain injury.  Johnny has been in critical care since he arrived at PCH.  Johnny is surrounded by his father Fidel, Mother Sonia and sister Jessica. As well as endless friends and family. We are unsure of Johnny's prognosis at this time. We ask for your support and prayers. On behalf of the family we are incredibly grateful for your support. Please donate to Johnny's recovery fund to help pay for his stay at PCH.

Johnny is doing amazing. Although he is not fully recovered he continues to make huge improvements. Johnny is communicating and seems to be getting his sense of humor back. He is in a bed that allows him to sit up on his own. The Doctors continue to be impressed with the rate of his recovery. Johnny has a great attitude and is very optimistic. He definitely continues to impress us with his positive attitude and his relentless recovery. Please keep him and his family in your prayers and look for more updates soon. Happy Holidays

Johnny sat up on his own yesterday with some assistance. He graduated the PICU the day before thanksgiving. The neurological team said he is progressing leaps and bounds. Johnny really acted like himself yesterday, more than ever before. He was actually laughing with his family. Hoping for words soon! Thank you everyone for the love and prayers. Everyone has been a huge support mechanism. Look for more updates soon.

It brings us great pleasure to have an encouraging update on Johnny's condition. Yesterday they were able to remove the endotracheal tube and Johnny is now breathing on his own. He has been able to move his arms and legs. All of this is a great sign. The extent of his injuries are still unknown as it will take time off sedation to assess. They are continuing to monitor and reduce medications. The family is staying positive and hopeful. Johnny continues to progress but still has a very long road ahead of him. Thank you to each and every one of you who has donated and prayed for his healing. Every little bit helps and the family is very appreciative. We will update again in the next few days.

They are continuing to lower a couple medicines. This is a slow process. So today is a day of more monitoring. Please keep the prayers coming! Thank you so much

My son Ethan (Tank 11) played on the Spartans with Johnny a few years ago. He reminded me last night Johnny was the smallest and youngest player on the team but played just as hard or harder than the older kids. Johnny is a fighter! Sending love and prayers to all of you.
