About JC
Meet Johnchris Carl Quirante, a 12 year old boy from Dumanjug, Cebu, Philippines. JC as he is called, is my nephew and has lived a life long battle against several life threatening illnesses.
JC's Conditions
JC was born with mild hydrocephalus and was diagnosed with hyperdontia (having excessive number of teeth, almost 200 teeth as shown in CT scans and panoramic X-Rays). Eventually, he was then diagnosed with severe aortic valve regurgitation and a mild mitral regurgitation. In 2016, JC had two oral surgeries to remove a total of 94 teeth. Then on February 24, 2017 he had his open heart surgery in Philippine Heart Centre to repair his valves. Unfortunately, the valves now need to be replaced in order to prevent heart complications.
The Cost
In order to afford two prosthetic valves and to cover his open heart surgery expenses at Philippine Heart Centre, we aim to raise 500,000 to 600,000 PHP (roughly 16,000 AUD).
JC and His Dream
JC has always been a very creative and intelligent boy with a loving, hilarious and heart-warming personality. But because of his conditions, he is insecure and is bullied for being different. JC is wishing to have his surgery so he can live his dream to become an engineer one day and help his family financially. Due to many past operations, JC's parents have been financially struggling and are unable to afford this very critical operation. This is JC's most urgent surgery to save his life and it will take place on the 22nd of April, 2019. We know he has a long way to go and funding this surgery is the first step to fulfil his dreams. In hope to hear about his successful operation, any donation is greatly appreciated.
