Bentley is Raelynn and Scot Rush's 8-month old Maltese puppy who was recently diagnosed with liver shunts. Liver shunts are when an abnormal connection forms between the portal vein, or one of its branches, and another vein, allowing blood to bypass around the liver. With Bentley's blood bypassing his liver, toxins in his body are building up and causing him pain, seizures, and abnormal behavior. Luckily, the Rush family received the diagnosis in time and have begun medicinal treatments in hopes of easing some of the symptoms.
As Bentley has spent the last few days hospitalized, the veterinary bills have been rolling in, and with a possible upcoming surgery, more are on the way. As many of you know, the Rush family would sell every material possession they own to have proper care for Bentley before they would ask for help but would never hesitate when it comes to helping others. Instead of allowing them to suffer alone, we can help with donations as a means to alleviate the stress of finances in a difficult time. No amount is too small, as even a simple gesture of sharing this information will help the Rush family keep their puppy alive.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
