Help Shane Ward get RED SHED Strong

Donation protected
Shane, the main man behind THE RED SHED in Yarmouth suffered a very serious health problem in August. Possible severe heat-stroke may have triggered an inflammation in the brain, sending Shane to the hospital in critical condition. Five members of Shane’s family flew from Australia to support Trilby and stay by Shane’s bedside. It has been a scary time for Shane’s friends and family.

Shane has turned a corner and is getting stronger. But the road to recovery may be a long one. It will take time before he can get back to the grill at THE RED SHED.

Shane's friends are asking for help while Shane gets in Shed shape again. We want to raise money to help Shane & Trilby get through this tough time.

Shane has always been quick to help local groups, especially those that support young people. THE RED SHED is a seasonal business, and Shane will not be able to work at a crucial time of year. Plus the Shed has only been open at reduced hours for several weeks.

Let’s help Shane get RED SHED STRONG!

…About Shane & Trilby

With his classic Aussie accent and smile as wide and natural as the Outback, Shane Ward greeted every customer at The Red Shed like an old friend. It’s no surprise, since Shane has made plenty of friends since he arrived in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, and opened the popular Red Shed food truck.

Hailing from Brisbane, Australia, Shane set up shop, and put down roots in Yarmouth for the most noble reason of all – true love. His partner Trilby Watson grew up in Gavelton, Yarmouth County. They met in Switzerland and moved back to Yarmouth to be close to family in 2004.

After arriving in Yarmouth, Shane worked at a good job with health benefits, pension and a future. Chucking job security, Shane took a chance on opening a new downtown business at a time when Yarmouth’s economy was in critical decline. Since The Red Shed opened, things started looking up with the return of the ferry and a renewed optimism and energy in town.

Over the past few years Shane has established partnerships with local businesses and suppliers and has made hundreds of friends and countless loyal customers.
