Shannon's Costa Rica Mission!!

Hi everyone! 

I am so excited to announce to you all that I (Shannon) am going on a month-long mission trip to Cachi, Costa Rica this summer (2016) through Royal Servants!!

After many fears and reservations about going on a mission trip, I decided to follow the passion God placed on my heart! I have been learning a lot about various cultures this past semester and it got me thinking about how much I have, and how little others have. I felt incredibly privileged sitting in my comfortable dorm room with 3 meals a day and an excellent education while in other countries people are lucky to have 1 meal a day, let alone an education and a dependable roof over their heads. 

In Costa Rica, we will be ministering to the mountain villages surrounding Cachi through service projects, evangelism, puppet shows and skits for Costa Rican children, and soccer ministry. I am so excited to see what the Lord has planned for our team and for myself personally as the leader of a small group of high school girls!

In order to go on the trip, I need to raise $2679. This money will go toward airfare, housing, food, and other miscellaneous expenses. The primary expense is airfare, and this is due by May 2, 2016. The rest of the money is due by June 29, 2016.

I ask that you please keep me in your thoughts and prayers as I prepare for this awesome adventure, and that you prayerfully consider helping financially if you are able. Please pray for the girls I will be leading and the people we will be ministering to. Pray that the Lord would give me wisdom and strength and the ability to lead in a way that brings glory to God. 

I am so grateful for whatever prayers and support you can lend, and I am incredibly excited for the things God has to teach me this upcoming summer!
