Allen Fuller was involved in a terrible accident on I-85 here in Atlanta. He has suffered some brain injuries. He is stable and is in ICU  at Atlanta Medical Center. His wife (Jessica) is considering dropping out of Georgia Tech to work full time. Due to his injuries he will be out of work for 4-6 months. We are asking for any kind of help for this family as it will be greatly appreciated.

Hey guys, it's Jess.

It's been close to a year and a half since Allen's accident changed almost everything for us. I say "almost everything" because it did not change the depth of our love and commitment to one another. Allen has come so far this year, and it is a testament to his incredible doctors and therapists, his strength of character and will to fight through hardship, and the never ending grace of God. He still faces some hurdles though. Speech is very difficult for him, and he can only communicate a few words at a time before he gets fatigued. His gait has definitely improved, but he continues to drag his right foot when he's tired. Which is often. His brain needs a lot of rest.

Allen loves spending time with family. He is so in love with his new nephew Xavier. If Allen is having a rough day, I just send him a pic of the little guy and it lifts him up. Allen also enjoys fishing, painting, and playing cards. I've gotten him to pick up the guitar a few times too :)

This is my last semester at Georgia Tech. I look forward to graduating and joining the workforce because then I will be able to support the both of us and continue to rebuild our lives. Because I am in college full time, we are still without income, and I am nearly $4000 short of paying my last semesters tuition. If it is within your ability, Allen and I would appreciate any support you can offer.

Thank you so much,
Jess

Allen has made several strides since his discharge from the Shepherd Center on July 8th. He is currently participating in outpatient therapy at Shepherd Pathways in Decatur, Georgia, where he works with a phenomenal team of therapists. He is now able to walk short distances without any assistance, and we hardly use the wheelchair at all. He is working very hard on regaining the use of his right arm and hand. Talking is still frustrating for him, but he has improved a lot in the last two months.

We are so proud of Allen and Jessica. There truly is power in love. Allen still requires 24/7 care, and they are staying in Atlanta so that Allen can receive the best therapy possible. We are still waiting on word from Disability, and between rent, bills, gas, food, and medical needs, things are really difficult for them. They greatly appreciate any contributions.

Allen has come a long way in the last two months. He was transferred to the Shepherd Center in Atlanta on April 7th and has shown remarkable recovery. He recently had the removed portion of his skull reattached and the swelling associated with the injury has mostly gone down. His trach tube was removed just last week, and since then, he has been trying to talk and has even eaten some softs foods. He spends much of his therapy time learning to walk and working to regain the use of his right side. We are constantly encouraged by all the love and support we have been given through this hurdle in our lives. We cannot thank you all enough.

Thanks everyone! His vitals look good. The swelling in his brain has gone down a little bit. He isn't fully awake, but he will open his eyes a little and look around. They are slowly trying to wean him off the ventilator. And we're hoping to move him to a center that specializes in recovery from brain injuries soon.
