On February 26, 2014, Laurence and Dawn Houmard were in a horrible car accident where Laurence passed away and Dawn had to be life flighted to Akron City Hospital. Dawn will recover, but the family needs help to cover the funeral for Laurence and also the medical bills that Dawn will have.
Laurence and Dawn are the parents of 9 children, and also hosted foreign exchange students for many years. Everyone was welcome in their home, stranger or not. They are one of the closest, most loving families I have ever met in my life. Laurence did everything for his wife and children. He was so hard working, and just a great man, father, husband, and friend.
Please donate anything you can to help this family get through this hard time. Thank you.

The funeral is over, but this family continues to deal with a long road of recovery. Dawn is still in a rehab facility working hard everyday. The medical bills are going to start pouring in every day...let's continue to support some of the burden this family is facing.
You all are amazing and the love and support shown to the Houmard family is a testament of the love and support they have always shown those around them. God Bless!

This donation is made on behalf of YFU Japan. Keiko Enatsu, the National Director, sent this note of condolence. "It is very shocking & sad news for us hear about the terrible tragedy that Larry was killed and Dawn has been in ICU. We are trying to contact with former YFU students those who were hosted by Larry and Dawn and could have valuable experiences and many wonderful memories thanks to Larry and Dawn’s warm care of our students with their love." It is very hard to reach to those YFU alumni since most of them seem to move somewhere else. We all YFU people in Japan would like to send our sincere condolence to the Larry’s family for his sudden death with our deep sorrow and also we are sincerely praying that Dawn will be able to get rid of serious situation for her recovery.
