Hello all! My name is Alyssa I am Wanda’s middle child.We are grateful. We are grateful for all the love, support, prayers, & positive vibes being sent our mothers way during this extremely difficult, extremely trying time. Please keep them coming!
We are grateful that she has access to a hospital and medicine and that our amazing family is close to her. It has been pretty difficult putting on a happy face when she looks over at you scared and unsure of anything... As most of you all know she fell while working at her job, at the City of Portland. A job she absolutely loves and has been with for 18 solid years, and it triggered a lot of things.
We are still trying to pin point exactly what is going on with her. When she went in to get checked out, doctors saw something odd and said it was germ cell cancer of an unknown primary. What a shock that was for everyone. Shortly after, she started chemotherapy and was in treatment from January 31st to March 12th. Since then, her lungs haven’t been functioning well. She’s needed assistance with breathing full time since being here, a little over a week now. At this stage, she is fighting the treatment more so than the cancer. Today she will be put on a ventilator to help her relax and give her lungs a rest.
I put together this GoFundMe because we need help. Although my mom has amazing insurance, it is not enough. My step dad goes to work everyday and supports everything from his income. My sister is a stay at home mom and has to leave the kiddos at home to come visit. I have to make the trip over from Bend and my little sister Alexis is trying to finish up her last year of high school. Everything is adding up.
Whatever you can donate today, tomorrow or a week from now will be so greatly appreciated by our family. Our mom is our rock. We need her! Thank you all so much.
