Gordon and Greg are making a SCULPTURE!

Here's the deal, we have this idea for a really amazing sculpture...and to be honest we are already about a third to halfway finished with it. However, the next few steps are proving to be a little more expensive than I originally thought. All of that being said - we have been keeping the idea of the sculpture a secret...because that makes the reveal more fun. 

So, does a secret sculpture (that's going to be awesome) sound like something you want to kick a few dollars to? If so...awesome. If not...well, don't. I get it, you can't support everything.

As for where the sculpture will live...well...that's a great question. Assuming it gets finished/turns out as planned, we will enter it into various shows/competitions. It would be great if it landed in a gallery or even if it was purchased...or if some city with great trails said "hey, that's cool...can we put that out so people can enjoy it?" Basically, we don't have a finite answer...we just knew it had to be made. The key is that it won't just be sitting in a basement somewhere...we are going to take this thing on the road and show people! You want it to be the centerpiece at your next party? That's an option. 

So...what exactly is your money going to? Well, as with most of the projects Greg and I have done...there's no money going to us. It's going directly to the materials. At this point we have finished the frame of the sculpture and are starting to build it up. The next step is applying some "tiles." Yeah...we'll just call them "tiles" for ease of explanation. However these "tiles" and their "grout" are not the cheap kind you grab at Lowe's on a Saturday afternoon. So your money would be going to purchase those items.

This whole thing is a little odd because we don't usually ask for money to make things. But, apparently that's a normal thing that many artists do...and, honestly, you have the freedom to just ignore all of this. But if you haven't ignored it...and you're still interested...we need to do this quickly. Before life gets too hectic. So we are working now, in January...and we need to finish in January. The "tiles" will take a few days to get delivered...and we should be ready to start applying them by the end of next week. So...yeah. Soon.

What's in it for you? Well, you're welcome to come hang out with us while we work on it...we're super fun. You're also welcome to get your hands dirty if you like, we love help. If (I mean WHEN) we get it into a show, you will be top of the invite list for openings/parties/receptions and special thanks will be given in whatever manner is appropriate (written/spoken, etc.). We may already have a name...but we are also willing to listen to suggestions on that...so you can maybe help name it. When it's finished you can come break a champagne bottle over it...or maybe next to it and pour some over it. Oh...and you get the satisfaction of knowing that you helped us and that we are eternally grateful.
