Hakuna Ma Tata, it means no worries. Hakuna Ma TataS, it means no worries for Elena.As many of you know, my best friend Elena was recently diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma. Elena's specific type of breast cancer is HER2- positive. It is a more aggressive type of breast cancer, but it is also a form of breast cancer that thankfully responds well to Targeted Therapy. The funding from your contributions will go directly towards helping Elena and her family with medical expenses, prescription costs, additional child care needs, cover lost wages and allow Elena to focus her energy into beating cancer.In raising money for her, we can show our love and support by giving her the time and resources she needs to focus simply on herself, and to help her family as they will be by her side through this. Elena will start her year long chemo therapy treatment in the next few weeks, followed by surgery and radiation. Elena has a long road ahead of her but with our support we can make the road a little less bumpy.Elena is an amazing person inside and out who does so much for so many and now it's our turn to lend a helping hand, not only to Elena but to Lee and their kids, Hannah and Zach too.
