Help me support my colleague Caroline and her family.
Caroline was diagnosed with stage 3 inflammatory breast cancer.
Inflammatory breast cancer occurs when cancer cells block the lymphatic vessels of the breast skin. Inflammatory breast cancer is the rarest and deadliest breast cancer. It develops and spreads very quickly. Caroline started chemotherapy treatments recently (March 25). The treatment is aggressive, and the chemotherapy will be followed by a complete mastectomy, radiotherapy and maintenance chemotherapy for a long year. She and her two children need our support to win the battle! That's why I thought about GoFundMe by asking for your help!
Ironically or not, Caroline had dedicated her doctoral thesis on the biology of cancer ten years ago. Following the deaths of her father, her brother-in-law and her grandfather within 9 months of 3 different types of cancer, she focused her research on the patient's experience. She has since contributed to public health research, including patient-oriented research.
My name is André Gaudreau and I have been working with Caroline for several years. I am an author under the pseudonym "André Positif", patient partner very involved in Diabetes Action Canada as well as in current research projects in Carolina. In addition to being a great colleague, Caroline is also a brilliant person! She has been involved for many years in public health research, including patient-oriented research.
Caroline is above all a person whose joie de vivre is contagious, with sparkling humor, empathy and enthusiasm out of the ordinary. Originally from France, she adopted Quebec more than 15 years ago.
She is a single mom of a 6-year-old girl and a 9-year-old boy living with an autism spectrum disorder. Before her diagnosis, Caroline, who had just turned 40, was taking care of her children and her recently widowed sister, whom Caroline has been welcoming for nearly two years at home with her nephew and niece. She also cares for her distant mother who is suffering from serious health problems. Today, Caroline needs support.
Together, let's make a difference to support Caroline and her two beautiful children during these difficult times.
