Lena's Scoliosis Lumbar Fusion
Donation protected
Lena suffers from chronic back pain due to having scoliosis. Currently she has two titanium rods and other hardware connected to her mostly fused spine. That leaves only 3 vertebrae left to take on all the work of a fully functional spine for the past 20 years. Well those last vertebrae have now developed deteriorating facet joints, degenerative disc, spondylolisthesis, arthritis, along with other side affects of scoliosis and spinal fusion. It is now necessary for the remaining vertebrae to be fused. This however is a very intense and expensive procedure. The recovery time, as you can imagine, will be long. Considering she is unable to work, walk, stand or sit for more than an hour or so at the moment, recovery will take at least 3 months. During that time basic bills as well as the upcoming mountain of medical bills will, unfortunately, break us. It is a fact that I have to battle with right now as I am currently laid off. If there was a way around this I would take it. It pains me to ask this much of anyone, but I have no choice but to swallow my pride and ask. Thank you for your time.
