Save the Old Barn

Hi, my name is shelly. A year ago my husband and I went in search of a place to raise our growing family and fell in love with an old farmhouse in the country. It had everything we wanted, plus an old red barn built in 1898. The barn once housed over 100 head of dairy cattle, but with time became just a space to store junk and fell into disrepair. We have put a lot of work into the barn but it still needs a lot more. Unfortunately, a number of the repairs needed are costly including a new roof and sliding doors.  We love the history of our country and wish to see the barn restored, so it can remain a fixture of our American heritage for our community.  Many of these old buildings are torn down and replaced with cheaper metal barns that are easier to build and maintain. As these landmarks continue to disappear, so do their stories and the reminders of times passed. We hope to keep a piece of the past alive and to provide a space for people to celebrate those memories while making new ones of their own.
