Disneyland for Momma

On Wednesday, February 12, 2014, our entire world came crashing down with one word, "terminal." No one ever wants to hear the word "cancer," let alone being terminal. For 3 years, our mother and grandmother, Cheryl Ghere, has been couragously fighting colorectal cancer. Through the surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, blood transfusions, and more surgery, we have stuck by her side with more support and love than anyone can ever imagine. Whether it was getting her a cup of soup, decorating her house for Halloween, or cooking the entire Thanksgiving dinner, we were always there at the drop of a hat. Family came from Centralia and Kennewick to surprise her for her birthday just to see her smile and see that she isn't going down without a fight. Now it seems that evil cancer, that word you never want to hear, is making a comeback in her pelvic soft tissues, and is inoperable. After being given a timeline of average 9 months to 2 years, we want to make her last year and memories the greatest. Nothing gives my mom more joy than seeing her family and the smiles on all her baby's faces. Her biggest wish is to see her newest grandchildren's, Olivia and Emma, faces when they see Mickey Mouse for the first time. Anyone who knows our mom, knows how much she LOVES Disney; how much she adores Mickey, and how her whole life has always evolved around Disneyland. Every morning, she watches the Los Angeles News just to catch a glimpse of the Disneyland castle on a gorgeous California day. We never thought it would come down to doing everything "one last time," but if we can get mom to Disneyland to see those baby's faces explode with joy and happiness, it would warm our hearts to know Mom's biggest wish is complete. She has given so much to this town, and to the kids we grew up with; whether it was starting a new school tradition or bringing to classrooms  her famous cookies and treats for every holiday and birthday, she's always been there for us and others. Anyone who is willing to donate, we are forever in  your debt and cannot thank you enough to help make Mom's biggest wish complete. If we reach more than what our goal is, funds leftover will help go towards her medical bills.
