You know I’m a singer- but you may not know I'm also a songwriter. In fact, I’ve got a bunch of new songs set to record in March, and OF COURSE it costs way more money than I make or will be making any time soon. So, yeah, I set up a gofundme page in case anyone's interested is supporting new art ;)
Listen, I am a woman of color and a woman of size. I make rock music- which is still, somehow, a very hard sell for someone who looks like me.
Help. Me. Represent.
Playing live and doing theater are my passions, but any impact made usually doesn’t reach further than the walls of the performance space. My self-released 2017 EP "First" has proved invaluable in widening my exposure- and after that experience, I feel ready to helm a full album that I'll be confident in seriously promoting. It is vital that I record these tunes soon (and in a dreamworld, create visual content to accompany) if I ever want a chance at pushing through to the next level. I think you know what I mean.
If you’ve enjoyed seeing me perform somewhere- in an opera house, in a dive bar, at The Paper Machete, at the Fly Honey Show, at The Hideout, in shows at Porchlight, Writers or Milwaukee Rep, at SXSW, screaming in an old Welsh church, or opening for Robert Plant with Jon Langford's Four Lost Souls...
I humbly implore you: please help this big black rock n roll lady tell her story! And help me do it in a way that I can present to a larger audience.

If you’re interested, I am happy to break down the projected budget, elaborate on my material, or hype the studio and musicians I’m working with... and when it's completed (prob in Fall?) I will absolutely send downloads to any donors who want one... but really I’m just hoping that if you have it to spare, you’ll consider throwing ole BT a few dollars to make a thing. xo.
