Facing Homelessness

I paid my property taxes at the tax office. I did this because I had to file for a homestead exemption. I was not aware that we also had to pay home owners association fees. The amount was not itemized on my tax bill. As a first time home owner, I was just completely ignorant. I continued to pay taxes at the tax office. I received a notice that I have to pay these fees in 30 days or we lose our home. We have no where to go. No family support. I have tried getting a loan against the house but it would just take too long. There is no feasible way for me to get this money. We were counting on our tax refund to take care of that but in 2006 Merris’s taxes had a mistake and the entire refund has been offset. We’re not getting a dime back. I hate doing this. Hate. But I’ve exhausted what few options I have and pride must take a backseat. This is my fault entirely. I realize that. Lesson learned. But if I can’t pull us out of this I’ll never forgive myself. I can probably file for an extension but that still leaves me scrambling to find the money. I can’t work anymore or harder. Merris is doing all he can. I’m tired of this horrible cycle of poverty we’re in. We had been doing so much better. I feel wretched
