WE HAVE QUALIFIED FOR NATIONALS! The first ever state-wide North Carolina Jr. Thespian Festival was held in Greensboro, NC, in October of 2018. Moore Square Magnet Middle School’s Jr. Thespian Troupe 89624 competed – and not only did 3 of our performance pieces receive the highest score possible, but they also were chosen for the Judge’s Choice Awards! These scores qualified our troupe to continue on and compete at the national level in June of 2019 in Nebraska at the International Thespian Festival!
HELP EVERY CHILD ATTEND. We do not want any child to be unable to attend this or any other Thespian related events in the near future due to finances. We are raising funds to cover all registration, food, lodging, and travel costs for all Thespian related competitions and events for 2019-2020.
MORE ABOUT THE FESTIVAL. This will be an incredible, and incredibly unique opportunity for our students! According to the International Thespian Festival, “The International Thespian Festival, produced by the Educational Theatre Association, is a weeklong immersion in the theatre arts specially for high-achieving middle and high school drama students and their teachers. Setting the standard for participatory educational theatre experiences, ITF broadens horizons, enriches learning, and celebrates the creativity of theatre students and teachers alike.”
The International Thespian Festival is a weeklong festival that provides workshops, competitions, and other learning activities for both students and educators. Moore Square is excited to represent the North Carolina Jr. Thespians at this prestigious event.
