Elizabeth fire recovery Fund
Feeling a strange heaviness different from being sleepy, she checked the time on the phone. It was 4:48 in the morning. Anani was sleeping beside her and Jojo by her feet. There was a strange smell in the ambiance and a glow coming from the leaving room. She went to investigate, and as she crossed the room, she was stunned by a dense smoke, which cut her breath. The kitchen and dining room where burning in flames. Elizabeth opened the exit door of the basement apartment she rented less than 2 months ago. It was her only way out and the only source of oxygen. She called upon her daughter to get out, but oxygen that entered her lungs also fed the fire, which now grew even more. Her daughter Anani said she was trapped. Elizabeth, ran back inside to rescue her. The two made their way through the smoke and the flames until they left. They thought Jojo had done it too. Thinking of containing the fire, they closed the door behind them, not knowing that they condemned their beloved Jojo to death. The fire investigator told Elizabeth she saved the house from burning down. But at the lower area, the basement apartment, everything was gone. At dawn on September 23, 2019 Elizabeth and Anani lost everything, including they beloved cat Jojo and the business that Elizabeth ran from home. They are very grateful to God for preserving their lives.
