Theresa's Fighting Cervical Cancer

In 2015 Mom was diagnosed and treated for Cervical Cancer. During that time she had a complete hysterectomy, 6 rounds of chemotherapy, 20+ radiation treatments and 6 internal radiation treatments. We had hoped and prayed that those treatments would be the end of her battle with cancer but unfortunately in May 2016 her scans showed a spot located near the left lung. This begin a long 11 months of trying to figure out exactly what the spot was. Is it cancer? Is it a new cancer? Had the cervical cancer returned? In the last 11 months Mom has endured a failed needle biopsy, countless scans, endless blood tests and two surgical procedures. Finally this week she received the news we'd waited 11 months to hear. The Cervical Cancer had returned in her lymph nodes. The plan is to treat her with six rounds of chemotherapy over the next 18 weeks. Over the next few weeks she'll need a CT scan, a Pet scan and she'll have a port placed in her chest. Then on April 26th she'll receive her first round of chemotherapy.
During all of this she has kept a smile on her face, continued to be a full time caregiver to my Dad and take care of all of us. Financially this has taken a huge toll on our family. Over the course of the next 6month to a year there will be added medical bills, extra gas to get to and from treatments and other unforseen costs. Mom has the toughest battle to fight so I'm hoping we can come together family, friends, and community member and help to relive some of the stress these treatments are going to place on her and our entire family.
