Supporting K9 MAX

My name is Nikki, a proud law enforcement officer's wife. My husband, Jim, is a police K9 officer in Homestead, PA. He has been their K9 officer for several years. Recently, the vehicle my husband was using died. Jim's dog, Max, has been out of work for 8 weeks now. Unfortunately, the car was old and needed too much money to be repaired/replaced. The borough has been in the process of trying to replace the car so that Max is back on the streets, but due to the costs of purchasing a new car and then installing the equipment, I am not sure if this is going to be possible. Jim and I have two small children and I recently graduated from nurse practitioner school. Over the last several years, I could not find the time to start fundraising for my husband and Max. I have since graduated and now have the time. I am in the process of finding a 501C3 to help assist in opening an account so that I can begin fundraising, but I know the GoFundMe accounts can be just as successful. While I am new to this, my goal is to help raise money for my husband and his dog to get them back to work TOGETHER. If tomorrow they were issued a new car with proper equipment, my goal would still be to continue to raise money so that there are enough funds in the future to continue the Homestead K9 program. Max assists with other local police departments, not just Homestead. Any amount will help and all donations will go to the Homestead Police Department. Thank you for your time and support!
