Joey & Brooklin Taylor Medical Fund

Joey and Brooklin have been married for almost 3 years and in that short time have lived in Beirut (Lebanon), Manchester (England) and now Cincinnati (Ohio, USA). During their time abroad, Joey worked for World Vision and Brooklin was teaching and pursuing her Doctorate. This time and these efforts were rooted in their desire to pursue God’s Kingdom.

Last November their story took a sudden turn. Just one month after returning to the US, Joey was diagnosed with Stage IV Melanoma. This was a very frightening diagnosis. Over the past four months, Joey and Brooklin have remained hopeful through difficult side-effects and uncertainty surrounding the effectiveness of the treatments. They have maintained their faith and confidence in their doctors and ultimately in their God. They wait with hopeful anticipation for the day when Joey is told the cancer is gone. Even now, they are seeking practical ways to be faithful while also praying God cultivates in them a vision for the season of life after recovery, where they are able to pursue the Kingdom in fresh ways. For more information on their journey thus far, go to https://brookandjoey.wordpress.com .

All that being said, we know fighting cancer requires extensive support. This is where you and I, the community surrounding Joey and Brooklin, come in. We can help. As friends and family it can often feel like there is nothing we can do. We want to help but we don't know how. Here's a list of practical things you can do:

Pray: Pray for miraculous healing and cry out to God on their behalf. Believe that God is going to heal Joey. Believe our God is faithful and good, and that He WILL do this.

Be Present: Don’t hesitate to reach out to them, assuring them of the presence of God through their community. Don’t worry about saying or doing the perfect thing. Connecting with people who love them has been a significant source of consolation for them during this time. In fact, it doesn’t always have to be heavy, even jokes and light-hearted conversations are greatly appreciated.

Give: Give to this GoFundMe page, which will go directly to help with all the known and unknown costs Joey and Brooklin will face in the journey ahead. 100% of your donations will help with their medical expenses, travel expenses, and any other expenses that may arise due to this illness. Give confidently knowing that when Joey beats this cancer any extra money raised will go to organizations doing meaningful work for cancer patients.

Thank you so much in advance for praying, for continuing to be present in their lives as Joey and Brooklin’s community, and for giving.
