In Memory of 4 Fallen Brothers
*** FEB 14 - DONATIONS STILL BEING ACCEPTED ***
Due to a high number of requests from people who did not get a chance to donate, we are opening up this page for donations again. The first round of donations has already been arranged for withdrawal and is being sent to the families. Any donations raised after February 14, 2014 (after $76,363.00) will still be sent to the families. Thank you all for your generosity.
On February 9th, 2014 in Tampa, Florida, we lost 4 talented young men to a fatal car accident.
The crash occurred at 2:12 a.m. just north of the Busch Boulevard exit of I-275. An SUV headed southbound in the northbound lanes hit another vehicle head on in the center lane. The 4 men, ages 20-22 died at the scene.
The driver of the second car was Jobin Joy Kuriakose, 21, of Orlando. His passengers were Ankeet Harshad Patel, 22, of Melbourne, Fla.; Imtiyaz Ilias, 20, of Fort Myers; and Dammie Yesudhas, 21, also of Melbourne.
These men were model students in their community at the University of South Florida and honorable brothers of Sigma Beta Rho Fraternity, Inc.
It is unimaginable what the families must be going through right now. As we all work through this difficult time, it is important for us to come together and form a support net for the family.
The cost associated with the procedures to lay these men at rest averages around $10,000 each, making it $40,000 total.
We are asking all of our family, friends, Greek community members, and associates help by donating as much as they can. Every little bit counts.
Thank you in advance for your donations and we humbly request you keep our brothers and their families in your prayers.
We are humbled and thankful for all of the support and donations.
We predicted a minimum cost of $10,000 for the funeral expenses but realize it can be more. Due to the generous amount of donations we have been receiving, we have now exceeded our goal. The final amount will be divided equally between the 4 families for them to use for any expense associated with losing their beloved sons.
On feb 9 2014 we lost a piece if each and everyone of us as four of our own is lost and I know no amount of donations we give will ever bring back what was lost or the far reaching impact it had in all of us near and far. But as a usf alum and friend if many former sigma beta rho boys this one had an impact on me that no other has had. But I would like to say im proud to be a Tampa native on this day as I see people near and far unify to support the families of these four young men.
praying for the famiy may God comfort them and give them peace of mind. please view my page to support my sons heart surgery
MOHSIN PLEASES CALL ME I WANT HELP. GOOD KIDS
Jobin, I hope you're seeing all the love and support people are showing for you in your home in the clouds. RIP gentlemen
May God bless the family and friends that have been affected by the deaths of these 4 lovely men. It is great to see how everyone is coming together to support and raise money for the families. Rest in peace Dammie, Jobin, Jim and Ankeet.
This really sucks that this happened. I know a life is a life, but 4 college students trying to make their futures better by going to college having their lives unfairly taken from them, what is worse than that? I really wish I could donate, but sadly am in a bit of a slump, but my heart and prayers still go out to them. May they find piece in the afterlife.
