Our Story and Accomplishments
We are the Pukalani STEM Imagineer Robotics Team! Our team consists of fourteen energetic and enthusiastic 4th and 5th graders. In the preceding months, we competed in several competitions on Maui and won numerous awards including the Robot Skills and Programming award, Excellence award, and the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) Research Project award. These accomplishments have qualified our team to compete in the Hawaiian Electric Hawaii State Elementary VEX IQ Championship on Oahu, where we are proud to be representing Maui. We will also represent Hawaii at the U.S. Create Open VEX IQ Robotics Championship in Iowa in early April 2019. Our team will also find out in March if we qualify for the World Championship in Louisville, Kentucky! Pukalani STEM Imagineers continued success is attributed to Pukalani Elementary’s efforts in providing STEM education for all their students. Many of us on this team have attended the STEMworks afterschool program since kindergarten! The activities and lessons we’ve learned has further nurtured and stimulated our interest, and in turn, has brought much knowledge and experience to our team.
Your Donation Matters
This is the opportunity of a lifetime for us! Within the next two months, our goal is to raise $25,000. This will assist us in covering the competition registration fees along with transportation and lodging for all 14 students and our coaches. Over half of the student population at Pukalani Elementary School are financially disadvantaged. It is through sponsorships from family, friends, and businesses that our team will be able to take part in competing. Your assistance in any way will help alleviate the traveling costs for our team! We would greatly appreciate your help in raising funds so we can have the opportunity to represent Maui and the State of Hawaii…. and make you proud! We truly thank you for all of your support!
