Help Randy Cartright Replace Boat

Donation protected
On October 1, 2015 Randy Cartright, a dedicated crabber and waterman, was removing crabpots from the Chesapeake Bay in preparation for Hurricane Joaquin.  Unfortunately, while loaded with crabpots, Randy's boat struck a pole/log in the water, breaking through the floor and took on water.  Before there was time to get to shallow water, Randy's  workboat Bonanza  was lost to rough winds and tide, and was devoured by the Chesapeake Bay.

Attempts to tow the vessel unfortunately failed, due to weather conditions.   For over 25 years Randy has worked this boat, spring, summer, fall, and winter.  From fishing, crabbing, and oystering, a part of Randy was lost to the Bay he loves and works everyday.  Luckily due to members of the local Hoopers Island community, Randy and his mate were recovered without injury, and able to retrieve the majority of his crabpots.  Hopefully we can fund him at least a start on a replacement boat, and certainly any amount we can raise would be beneficial to the Cartright family.   They have endured a lot over the years, and it would be a fantastic gesture to help them get back on their feet in a time of need.   So lets help an avid outdoorsman, and tremendous waterman get back to work doing what he loves, "you know what I mean".
