Help For Diane Santiago

My name is Kayla G. and I am creating this page in hopes to help out my Aunt and Uncle during this trying time. Since July of 2018 my aunt has been unable to work due to a recent diagnosis of Para Neoplastic Syndrome with a solid nodule on her right lung. Paraneoplastic syndromes are rare disorders that are triggered by an altered immune system response to a neoplasm. They are defined as clinical syndromes involving nonmetastatic systemic effects that accompany malignant disease. In a broad sense, these syndromes are collections of symptoms that result from substances produced by the tumor, and they occur remotely from the tumor itself. The symptoms may be endocrine, neuromuscular or musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, cutaneous, hematologic, gastrointestinal, renal, or miscellaneous in nature. Since then my aunt and uncle have been trying to make ends meet while keeping up with all of the medical bills flowing in and supporting a household of five solely off my uncles working income and my aunts limited disability. Diane has been outsourced to Penn Medicine in hopes for the condition to be treated. Currently Diane is being treated with physical therapy, at home IV steroid treatments, and frequent trips to Philadelphia for her appointments. Since July, she has had numerous hospital stays, and emergency room visits. On top of these visits, she has also had numerous CT scans and MRIs. Diane will be seeing a pulmonary specialist this week to target the issue resulting in a possibly biopsy of the tumor located on the lung. Her medical bills will continue to grow and travel expenses will pile up. I am creating this page in hopes to help alleviate some of the stress of medical bills and to help out with the bills at their home. My Aunt Diane and Uncle Hali are amazing people who are always willing to do for others at any given time but are now in need of help.
