The Show Must Go On

Donation protected
Friends, I’m in a pickle. This past Tuesday night, while driving Sparky, my Chevy Volt, an error message popped up that said, “Engine not available. Service soon.” Then my car lost power steering and brake assist while in traffic. Then it stopped. It wouldn’t budge. I had it towed to a Chevy dealership. The service department there said it would cost 6500$ to fix. That’s not in my ballpark of reality. I had it towed to a second mechanic who specializes in hybrids. They said they’ve never seen this before and don’t know how to fix it. The winter tour starts this Monday in Nashville and goes until the coming home show in New Orleans at Gasa Gasa on February 11th. It takes months to organize a tour like this. I can’t cancel. That’s not a thing. I’ve got to honor my commitments. So many people came together to make this tour possible. I’ve got to find a way to make it happen. I’m not lost on the irony that this happened right before a tour supporting an art project called Aggressively Vulnerable. Cause I sure am vulnerable right now and aggressively so. Because it looked like so many people were willing to help me through this awkward and expensive predicament, here’s the Go Fund Me page. The show must go on, cause I don’t know what else to do.
