My name is Tanna Cox. I am a concerned mother of Kristen whose husband Steve Hansen , son of Ron and Wyoma Hansen has been recently diagnosed with Stage 3 Colon Cancer. Steve is a 37 year old Deputy Sheriff in Colorado. Due to this medical emergency, they are in immediate need of financial help. That is why I am setting up this account.
On December 25, 2015, early in the am Steve started having abdominal pains. As Christmas day progressed the pain increased and no medications seemed to help. On the morning of the 26th, my daughter Kristen rushed her husband to the emergency room. After a CAT scan and many tests, it was determined that a tumor was blocking his colon and surgery was then scheduled for the next day.
The surgery resulted in the surgeon removing 2 ½ feet of his upper colon and multiple lymph nodes due to abnormalities in tissue.
On Tuesday the 5th of January 2016, the prognosis came back as Stage 3 Colon Cancer with at least 6 months of Chemotherapy ahead. With his age and no family history of this disease, this diagnosis was a shock to us all.
Steve being a police officer and my daughter a high school teacher in a rural school district, both do not have occupations with high paying salaries. Like most young couples, they live from paycheck to paycheck.
As of today, Steve has now had a total of 3 surgeries and will be starting Chemo in the near future. There is no way of knowing how much financial hardship these two hard working people are going to be up against with this unexpected Cancer diagnosis.
Steve and Kristen appreciate any assistance with their situation that can be provided. If financial assistance is not within your ability, please help with prayers. Our beliefs are that Miracles happen with prayer.
