Sara Stelmacki’s Fight Against Breast Cancer Fund

You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.
Hi, my name is Sara Stelmacki. I am 34yrs young; I am a loving and supportive wife to my husband Blake (married 6+ yrs now) and a rockstar mother to our two amazing young kids, Kinzie (3yrs) and Jackson (1yr). I am a educator, a 4th grade public school teacher, I love what I do. My family and friends mean the world to me.
My life changed dramatically on December 3rd 2018, when I was diagnosed with breast cancer; infiltrating ductal carcinoma. The pathology diagnosis of the biopsy was triple positive with a predicted grade of 3 of 3, positive test results for Estrogen receptor, Progesterone receptor and HER2. Fortunately I caught it early (self exam) and it has not spread into the lymph nodes. The treatment plan is still daunting however, consisting of an aggressive treatment of chemotherapy first (six chemotherapy sessions, once every three weeks), then a double mastectomy with reconstructive surgery 2-3 weeks after chemo, along with endocrine therapy, ovarian suppression and anti estrogen meds and continue anti Her2 meds to combat any residual disease for at least a year.
The best news I have heard so far from my awesome team of doctors was from my oncologist, she said with today’s improved treatment and drugs and this particular cancer I have “my prognosis is excellent”, and it has a “very high cure rate nowadays”.
It will be a long tough enduring battle for myself and my family, that has and will continue to test us like never before; the amount of stress and anxiety that has resulted from this diagnosis has never been experienced before for either myself or my husband, there’s simply no words to describe what we’re all going through...but we are ready to fight and beat this cancer together. Faith, hope and love will guide us through this most difficult time. Please pray with us for healing, strength and courage.

All funds raised will go towards the costs associated with my cancer diagnosis, treatment, surgery, and the unknowns on this road to fighting cancer and become a cancer survivor. If any raised funds are left over, they will gladly be donated to another local breast cancer fighter or local cancer support group.
