Police Unity Tour Fundraiser

Donation protected
We are seeking support in helping our team ride in the annual Police Unity Tour, a three day bicycle ride covering over 240 miles. This ride takes place every May to kick off National Police Week, were we ride for our fallen Officers. All riders must be sworn Law Enforcement Officers and are required to raise $1700.00 individually to particiapte in the ride. The money raised will be donated to the up keep of the National Law Enforcement Memorial and to the families of the fallen officers we are riding to support. More importantly this event is designed to raise the awareness of the sacrifices our fallen brothers and sisters have paid to protect and serve the public. Each member will also wear a bracelet representing a fallen officer's name which is presented to their family at the candle light vigil held on Sunday of police week.

On September 11, 2007, my husband, Kevin, was involved in an officer involved shooting where a suspect attempted to take the life of a fellow officer on his squad. Fortunately that night they relied on their training and were all able to return home to their loves ones at the end of their shift. This event had lasting impacts on him.

In 2012 my husband decided to ride for the first time in the Police Unity Tour to show his support. As I watched and supported him, I was moved by the stories he shared from his experience along the way. I will not forget that day waiting to cheer him on as he and so many came riding into the Police Memorial, what an incredible thing it was to see! I decided I wanted to ride in 2013; I wanted to see and experience how it felt to be riding in. I was not sure I was going to have the opportunity because it was so much money to raise for both of us, however we did it! We received such wonderful support. I will say, I struggled and at times thought about giving up but with all the help I had from my husband, fellow officers riding with me, and looking at the bracelet I was wearing for the Police Officer I choose to ride for, Trooper Amanda Anna who lost her life, May 26th, 2012, I knew I had to keep going to honor her and all police officers. It was such an incredible accomplishment.

My husband and I have decided to ride again this year and we are so very excited! I have attached a flyer titled "All About Us" along with a tax deductible donation form, in the event you wish to support us in this worthy cause.
