Let’s Help Alan Boitz Kick Cancer

Donation protected
Our precious nephew, brother, son, cousin and dear friend has just been diagnosed with colon cancer that has spread to the liver and stomach lining. This has just happened in last few weeks. We are all heartbroken that such a young 35 year old man could be facing such a serious diagnosis. Today he received a port in his chest. He will begin receiving massive chemo treatment probably next week. This treatment will be the most massive treatment that they can deliver. He is currently being treated at Texas Oncology in Austin, Texas. As you can imagine, this will be a very long, difficult and expensive journey for Alan. It is especially difficult for his mother Cathy. We are asking for assistance for them in this very expensive medical treatment. I will keep everyone up-to-date on Alan’s progress. All donations will go directly to his medical care for hospitals, specialist, drugs. We are praying that God will hear our prayers and heal Alan. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your love that you have given to Alan.

from Alan:

I’m really at a loss for words after seeing this page. Seems hard to believe that this is happening to me and that it’s not some sort of mistake. Every day for the past month has been like a bad dream come true.

The people here are so generous, loving, and compassionate. These donations are not something I would ever ask for, and to be honest, not something I would want to promote. However, they are easing the stress of the transition into this battle with cancer because of the sudden upfront costs and loss of income.

I do have insurance. Although I am told it is very good, I am quickly finding out the business-side of cancer coverage and disability. These things do take time and have frustrated me and my family to no end. Suddenly, I’m not having to worry about liquidating assets before the end of the year. I’m not really sure how long this battle will last but I’d sure like to figure out a way to repay all these gracious and timely donations.

Again, I want to thank all of you as much as I can. I do have an open room in my house beginning Dec 1st. I am trying to accommodate visitors as best I can so please get ahold of me if you’d like to schedule a visit. Below I listed a few people off the top of my head intending to hop on a plane and visit Austin.

Love,
Alan Boitz
